Best dim sum in walnut creek, friendly staff and fast ordering we highly recommended and support local restaurants
Came in today with family. Came in first thing and got seated right away, no line so that's a big plus! Ambiance is clean with some Chinese decorations around the wall. Food in my opinion was pretty good. Their chili sauce is pretty good as well. Wife says it's a little salty but that's just a sign that it's well seasoned. Overall had a great time here. Looking forward to trying the other items on their dim sum menu.
Food - 4 Service - 4 Value - 3 I came here with my parents recently since we were passing through the area. The dim sum we had was good, but I'd rather drive an extra 30 minutes to go some places in East Bay as we'd end up paying about the same and the food would be better quality. However, if you don't have the extra time for a drive like that then Creek House will certainly satisfy your hankering for some dim sum.
5 stars for food. Really fresh and great dim sum. -1 star for slow service. We were seated in the back and they rarely came back to check on us. They forgot one dish and we had to remind them late and they had to cook it. We ended being there for like 2 hours which was not ideal
Really great atmosphere and vibe to bring friends and family, service was excellent and everyone was friendly and very happy to help out. It helps that the food was absolutely delicious.
Had dim sum for dinner. We wanted to try rice noodle rolls but they are available only until 3pm. Jumbo Siu Mai was well-portioned but seemed one dimensional in terms of mouthfeel and taste. Much better was the pan fried pork bun which featured fluffy, lightly seared buns with very well-made and delectable pork filling. Crispy shrimp egg rolls with shrimp and chive was above-average: very crispy skin with fresh and moist fillings. Bean curd rolls good but not exceptional. Black sesame seed glutinous rice balls with warm mochi rice flour dough encapsulating sesame seed paste (non-oozing unfortunately) concluded our meal on a sweet note. Tea costs $3.76 per pot. Overall, an above average meal but slightly expensive. Gracious service.
Solid dim sum. The har gow and shrimp / beef noodle roll were the best - shrimp was juice and plump. Siu Mai is a classic and made well. The XO fried turnip cubes were soggy and not crispy in the slightest. The sticky rice was mushier than normal, not a fan of this one. The fried football came out within a minute and tasted old. Service was quick and they constantly refilled water. Great job on that!
I've been going here for a couple years now and the food never misses. I think this is one of my favorite Dim Sum places in East Bay and I always go here whenever I visit the area. We had this for breakfast and it was super light, filling, and we had so much leftovers!! (We tend to over order too LOL, this was just for 2 ppl) We branched out today from our usual go-to and ordered the Salt and Pepper Calamari, Clay Pot, and Garlic Pea shoots but the Har Gow, Siu Mai, Shrimp rice rolls are STAPLE!! Honestly the calamari was my favorite out of todays dishes, and they load it up on the garlic pea shoots. I thought the clay pot was okay, it had an interesting smell to it (not bad, I think i'm just not used to it) but the flavors were great- it was light, boiled well, and the gravy was light. Going on a sunday morning we waited behind 6 groups but they sat us pretty quickly. Usually they're not crowded with a wait when we go but sunday's are a given. Service is great, fast, and felt homey. It has a traditional Chinese interior which brings it all together. Free hot tea as always. I'm glad I found a spot that I will always go back to despite not even living here (I live in socal) . Best place ever!! Thanks for always being so great!
Restaurant chosen by my cousin living in the East bay area for over 25 years as her favorite dim sum restaurant. And it certainly did not disappoint. We arrived to the restaurant about 11am and already the restaurant was almost full. A very good sign of goodness to come. Once cousin chose a few of her favorites and I added on a few I wanted to try the anticipation was crazy. Here there is no cart service. You submit your paper order then wait. Thankfully we didn't have to wait too long for the dishes to roll out. Service was quick and plentiful. The dishes we ordered: Har gao shrimp dumpling - 4/5 Generously sized. Skin to filling ratio good. Shumai pork hash - 3/5 I'm just not a big fan of pork hash in general. Nothing new here. XO turnip cake - 5/5 Possibly my favorite Bean curd roll steamed - 4/5 Generously filled and delicious Pumpkin salted egg seasoned - 5/5 Just don't see it as often so happy when I do! Shrimp in rice noodle 5/5 Jumbo shrimp. Fresh soft wrap. Did I forget anything? Lol. Needless to say, there were leftovers, lots of leftovers taken out! Nothing's wrong with delicious leftovers.
